Shamelessly lifted from Maurice Sendak, this illustration was a lesson in respect for crosshatching. I re-drafted the entire piece on my tablet, with notable additions. I have gained a whole new perspective on Sendak's illustrations. Probably 12 hours of solid drawing. I used it for a show poster, but I think the drawing came off better than the poster did.
